I Muse, una delle band piu' importanti del rock mondiale, si sono infatti aggiudicati il primo premio come miglior artwork del 2009 per la copertina loro ultimo album, che e' anche uno dei best seller dell'anno appena trascorso
La band inglese si e' piazzata al primo posto della classifica stilata dai lettori del sito artvinyl.com; la cover, realizzata dallo studio londinese La Boca, ha superato rivali come Green Day, Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, Editors e Manich Street Preachers. Un'ennesima conferma dell'enorme successo di Matt Bellamy e soci che quest'estate intraprenderanno un tour nei maggiori stadi europei ad iniziare dall'Italia, dove i Muse si esibiranno martedi' 8 giugno a San Siro per un concerto che si preannuncia epocale.

Elisa e Claudio Baglioni verso la terza serata del Festival di Sanremo. I due, entrambi ai primi posti delle classifiche con i rispettivi nuovi album 'Heart' e 'Q.P.G.A.', potrebbero essere tra le otto star della musica italiana e internazionale che animeranno la serata di giovedì 18 febbraio della kermesse.
La terza serata del 60° Festival, infatti, sarà dominata dall'evento intitolato "quando la musica diventa leggenda" che vedrà otto grandi artisti scegliere, arrangiare e reinterpretare la canzone da loro più amata, tra tutte quelle presentate in 59 edizioni di Sanremo.
Il management di Baglioni precisa però che "al momento non è previsto alcun tipo di partecipazione dell'artista al Festival di Sanremo". In realtà - a quanto apprende l'ADNKRONOS - la trattativa con la Rai è più che avanzata ma probabilmente nulla ancora è stato messo per iscritto in un contratto.
E mentre il direttore artistico Gianmarco Mazzi lavora per chiudere con altri 6 'miti' della musica per celebrare degnamente il 60° anniversario del festival, prende sempre più consistenza - sempre a quanto apprende l'ADNKRONOS - anche la trattativa per portare al Teatro Ariston come superospite internazionale Susan Boyle, la cantante scozzese lanciata dalla terza edizione di 'Britain's got talent'. La Boyle è diventata in poco tempo una superstar mondiale e da molte settimane è al primo posto in classifica negli Usa con oltre 7 milioni di copie vendute in un mese per il suo album d'esordio 'I dreamed a dream' (il più venduto del 2009).
Stretta finale all'insegna di una durissima selezione per gli aspiranti concorrenti di Sanremo Nuova Generazione. "I brani arrivati e ascoltabili sul sito Rai sono stati 988 e non sarà affatto facile arrivare da questo numero ai 6 artisti che entreranno nel cast del festival", spiega all'ADNKRONOS Gianmarco Mazzi. "Sono molto contento -aggiunge Mazzi- della risposta ricevuta su cui probabilmente ha avuto un ruolo benefico anche la scelta del nome 'Nuova Generazione' invece del tradizionale 'Giovani', che secondo alcuni risultava sminuente". Mazzi si dice soddisfatto della risposta del pubblico degli internauti (oltre 4 milioni di contatti per la sezione del sito Rai dedicata) ma anche del livello qualitativo delle proposte: "Chiaramente quando si fa una ricerca così allargata, che sfiora i mille artisti, arriva un po' di tutto, anche cose dilettantesche. Ma se guardiamo alla parte 'alta' c'è grande qualità. Direi proprio che è una buona annata", sottolinea.
Il primo passo della selezione, che Mazzi conduce insieme ad una commissione formata da Andrea Lo Vecchio, Massimo Cotto, Gigio D'Ambrosio e Mariolina Simone, saranno le audizioni live che si terranno sabato prossimo nella storica sede della Radio Rai di Via Asiago. "Dopo aver passato tutte le festività ad ascoltare e riascoltare i brani e a vedere i video, convocheremo circa 40 persone per avere il quadro completo vedendoli esibirsi dal vivo. Poi ci prenderemo un paio di giorni di ulteriore riflessione e il 12 gennaio comunicheremo i 6 artisti e le 6 canzoni che, unitamente ai già scelti provenienti da SanremoLab, andranno a formare il cast dei giovani in gara al festival 2010".

Lucio Dalla e Francesco De Gregori trent'anni dopo la storica tournee di 'Banana Republic' si esibiranno di nuovo insieme: titolo della serata 'Work in progress', fissata per il 22 gennaio al Vox Club di Nonantola (MO).
Per ora si parla di evento unico, ma non si esclude che, in seguito, possano esserci altri appuntamenti o una tournee.
I biglietti, a 34,50 euro l'uno, sono già in vendita, ma solo on line, sul sito TicketOne.it. Il ricordo del successo di 'Banana Republic', segnata da un canzone ben ritmata e orecchiabile, 'Ma come fanno i marinai', e da cui nacquero un disco e anche un film, è ancora vivo e quindi la speranza che il miracolo si ripeta.
Si dice che l'idea sia nata questa estate quando dalla allestì come regista uno spettacolo su testi del poeta Roberto Roversi per l'attore Marco Alemanno in piazza, a Solferino, per ricordare la battaglia che vi si svolse il 24 giugno del 1859 e che chiuse la seconda guerra d'Indipendenza. Vi intervenne, cantando alcune sue canzoni legate alla storia e la realtà del nostro paese, anche De Gregori e, a conclusione della serata, questi e Dalla si esibirono insieme dopo appunto 30 anni.
La band, che insieme a Rick Rubin, sta plasmando l'atteso seguito di 'Minutes To Midnight' del 2007, ha iniziato a fornire qualche dettaglio in più sul nuovo materiale.
Il leader Mike Shinoda ha infatti affermato di essere a metà del lavoro e che in studio c'è molto divertimento.
Per quanto riguarda la musica invece ha dichiarato che l'album sarà spostato verso l'elettronica, con la presenza importante di drum machine e tastiere.
Il 2010 si annuncia come un anno di grande musica. Molti gli appuntamenti italiani e internazionali attesi dai cultori dei diversi generi.
In cima alla lista c'è l'atteso, annunciato, rimandato, annullato poi di nuovo rinviato, ritorno di Amy Winehouse. Con la 26enne cantante inglese non si puoò mai dire ma, salute permettendo, il prossimo anno dovrebbe finalmente essere quello del nuovo cd. Se non altro per ragioni contrattuali, Amy dovrebbe riuscire, a dispetto dei suoi numerosi problemi con le dipendenze e con la giustizia, a farcela a lavorare sul nuovo album, a 4 anni di distanza da 'Back to black'
Altro ritorno internazionale attesissimo è quello di Madonna: dopo la raccolta 'Celebration', la regina del pop dovrebbe dare alle stampe un nuovo disco di inediti. Si parla di un album con sonorità completamente innovative per la cantante americana, prodotto da Brendan O'Brien, già collaboratore dei Pearl Jam.
Per l'Italia i ritorni più attesi sono due: quello dei Negramaro, a tre anni di distanza dal trionfale 'La finestra' e dopo che Giuliano Sangiorgi, voce della band, ha messo a segno una serie di perle d'autore, da 'Domani' a 'Ti vorrei sollevare' con Elisa. Atteso anche il ritorno di un altro grande della musica italiana, Daniele Silvestri, a tre anni di distanza dall'ultimo cd di inediti 'Il latitante'.
E per la musica d'autore internazionale, i fan contano i giorni che mancano all'uscita di 'Scratch my back', nuovo album di Peter Gabriel, un progetto in cui l'ex leader dei Genesis canterà brani di altri artisti. E anche Tom Waits, altra leggenda della musica, ha annunciato un nuovo album che uscirà entro la fine del 2010, quattro anni dopo la collezione 'Orphans: brawlers, bawlers bastards'. Curiosità anche per l'uscita della superstar del pop degli ultimi dieci anni, Jennifer Lopez: il nuovo album 'Love?' con tanto di punto interrogativo nel titolo.
E tra gli eventi musicali più attesi del 2010 ci sarà anche il nuovo album di Ringo Starr 'Y not' che conterrà due canzoni, 'Walk with me' e 'Peace dream' cantate assieme a Paul McCartney: praticamente una reunion di tutti i Beatles viventi. Non è ormai più un fenomeno italiano ma mondiale quello che si terrà il 2 marzo a Los Angeles quando Andrea Bocelli avrà la sua stella sulla Walk of Fame, il marciapiede più famoso del mondo. E, per l'Italia, non mancherà ovviamente l'appuntamento musical-televisivo piuù atteso, a dispetto dei tanti talent show che imperversano: il Festival di Sanremo 2010, con cast di big già annunciato con riflettori puntati soprattutto sul trio Emanuele Filiberto-Pupo-Luca Canonici.
